Supporting Rangers
MANA POOLS CLINIC
The Mana Pools Clinic located at the National Park’s Nyamepi headquarters is a central medical clinic that services all ZimParks rangers within the Middle Zambezi area. The Zambezi Society supports the clinic through the provision of basic medicines and equipment. This ensures all rangers have access to basic treatment whilst on duty.
RANGER FOOD RATIONS
The Zambezi Society distributes a contribution towards basic deployment supplies and food rations to ZimParks rangers across the Middle Zambezi area. We also distribute basic food rations for rangers and their families living on station in this area.
KARL PISEC PRIMARY SCHOOL, MARONGORA
The Karl Pisec Primary School was established at the ZimParks Marongora station in the 1980s with funding from the Pisec Family. The purpose of the school was to provide an education for ZimParks rangers’ children living on station. The Pisec family has continued to support the school since, working with the Zambezi Society to strengthen the learning experience of all ranger children who attend the school. This is done through provision of educational materials, structural and functional improvements (repairs, solar installation, painting etc.), and a one meal a day programme for the children.
