SAVING THE ELEPHANTS FUND-RAISER A GREAT SUCCESS - IN NEW YORK AND HARARE
The fund-raising SAVING THE ELEPHANTS 10km Run/Walk held in Central Park, New York City on Saturday 17th November 2018 in aid of the umbrella Zambezi Elephant Fund (ZEF) was a great success! More than 600 entries were received and hundreds of friends and well-wishers of all ages braved the snowy weather and freezing temperatures to show their support for collaborative elephant conservation efforts in the Zambezi Valley.
On the same day, a parallel event was held at the Mukuvisi Woodlands in Harare, Zimbabwe. More than 500 people took part on a contrastingly hot and sunny day!
The proceeds of both events will go towards anti-poaching projects, intelligence work and community projects being undertaken by The Zambezi Society and its collaborating partners under the umbrella of ZEF, in support of Zimbabwe’s Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) within the Zambezi Valley - with the focus being elephant conservation.
We extend our most grateful thanks to all the volunteers who assisted with the organisation of both events, and to the photographers who kindly donated their work.
A TRULY FANTASTIC effort for the ELEPHANTS OF THE ZAMBEZI VALLEY!
Here are some images from both events!
